Dear Fellow Ministers,
Thank you for the countless ways you share the love of God “outside the box” of what most people look for in church. We saw that this past weekend with the winter weather. I was thankful for the ways staff and volunteers stepped up to make worship happen on Sunday. We were able to film authentic worship on very short notice and get it out on Sunday morning. People joyfully participated even though many of the details were being figured out as we went along. Thank you to everyone who made worship happen and to everyone who worshiped with us.
This Sunday, we will have Pastor Susan preaching in our “Hurt To Wholeness” series about repentance. I hope you will read through Matthew 4:12-23 as God forms a sermon in us. Please come ready to hear God’s Word and expecting God to speak.
Looking out over the next several weeks, we will be entering into our emphasis on the love of Christ being lived out through our Global Impact Missions Ministry. I hope you will join us in celebrating that incredible ministry on February 8 and 15, and “serve day” on February 14. Read all about our Global Impact Celebration here!
As always, please check out our website, as it is updated regularly to offer ways for folks to be involved in discipleship. Thank you for the many ways you engage with Christ through Matthews United Methodist Church. We are made stronger by you. I look forward to being in ministry with you this week. Thank you for showing the love of Christ in out-of-the-box ways. It makes a difference! Be sure to view my weekly video update!
In Christ’s Service,
David
