NEW PAJAMAS FOR KIDS
Promise Pajamas, a Global Impact partner, needs pajamas for underprivileged children this fall. Drop off your donation of new pajamas (size infant to XL adult) in the bins at the church located in the Commons, at the Chapel and in the Narthex. They will be collected during September.

POTATO DROP PREP
Community Serve Event Saturday, Oct. 21, 9 am - 12 pm in the Large Parking Lot. Over 100 volunteers are needed to help bag 40,000 lbs potatoes to help fight local hunger. Service hours are available. No experience needed! Sign up to volunteer. Please contact the Church Office at 704-847-6261 with questions or to help with preparations. Event supports our Global Impact Mission Partners & is held in conjunction with Faith UMC & The Society of St. Andrew.

REBUILD FROM GA TORNADO
Looking for a chance to rebuild homes? Join us October 23-27 for a trip to Griffin, GA: Register HERE
All levels of construction skills are welcome, cost is $200/pp. We are rebuilding from tornado damage on January 15, 2023 when 2,000 homes and businesses were destroyed. Spalding County was one of seven counties in GA that were declared federal disaster areas. Shortly after the storms passed, the Spalding County Sheriff said there was at least $17 million in damage across the county, and he expected that number to go up. We are partnering with St. Simons Presbyterian Church for this rebuilding mission work. Please contact Ivan Johnson or Amy DeVore with questions.

HEART MATH TUTORING
Volunteers are needed at Mint Hill Elementary to tutor a student 30 minutes or 1 hour per week from October to April. Heart provides a fun, effective curriculum, and an on-site Program Coordinator to ensure success. Sign up here. (Please select Mint Hill from the list.)

BLESSED ASSURANCE ADULT DAY CARE
Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care needs volunteers to plant collards in late August or early September. Small groups can come and lead bingo or craft time, please see Amy DeVore for details or contact the Church Office at 704-847-6261.

REBUILD IN HAYWOOD COUNTY
The South Charlotte United Methodist Church Partnership Trip - Haywood County Sunday, Nov 5-Wednesday, Nov 8: Register HERE
As part of our Global Impact commitment to support our neighbors who are impacted from local disasters, we have focused on the mountains of North Carolina. Haywood County residents continue to recover from severe flooding which killed six people and displaced hundreds in August 2021. Construction experience is not required; experienced leaders will train and guide the group. Youth 8th grade and older are welcome to participate if accompanied by a parent. Cost to participate is $80, which includes room & board. (Minimum deposit upon registration is $40.) The team will have the option to travel together or separately.

CHANGED CHOICES
This organization helps women build new lives beyond prison walls. Changed Choices exists so that women who have experienced incarceration may lead restored lives marked by healthy decisions, self-sufficiency and contribution to their communities Show God's love by joining the card-writing team for Changed Choices. MATTHEWS HELP CENTER
Matthews HELP Center provides short-term crisis assistance to neighbors in the Matthews community. Volunteer for a four-hour shift, from 9am-1pm or from 1pm-5pm. You can greet donors, sort donations, inspect clothing and help customers. Contact Ida Riddick for more info.
