Vacation Bible School Recap

9th Sunday after Pentecost
Just these lines, my friends …

… to remind you that Pastor Chuck is taking a few weeks of rest and renewal and will return on September 6. Read the FAQ about his time away.

You are in the best of hands with our pastors, Paul, Corey, Roldan and Jenny. Be sure to join us for worship every Sunday morning in person, live online when you are traveling, or throughout the week on our youtube.com/matthewsumc channel.

Pastor Chuck promised that he would share the video of his daughter MacKenzie & Tyler’s wedding. Click here to see the highlights of this beautiful celebration of marriage.

Ministry Made Possible by Your Giving, Serving & Loving!

We welcomed around 230 kids from 4 years old – 6th grade (including new friends from Ukraine) for an incredible week of Monumental VBS (Vacation Bible School) where we discovered that God is AWESOME! Throughout the week, the kids made friends, worshiped, played games, completed mission projects, looked for God Sightings and so much more as they developed and grew in their understanding of God’s magnificent love. We also give thanks for the 60+ volunteers who helped make VBS week possible – without their time and energy this week would not have been possible. A huge thanks as well to those who donated items, gift cards, and funds for scholarships to help make VBS more affordable for all the families.

Featured Videos from the Devotional Archives

While Pastor Chuck is away, members of our staff are selecting video devotions from our archives to feature here. Watch this devotion about how we can learn from sheep about our Shepherd, Jesus.

This Sunday in Worship

We invite you to join this Sunday in person or online at 8:15 am (traditional – in person only), 9:30 am (contemporary), 11:00 am (traditional) or 12:30 (Spanish – in person only).

Pastor Jenny will lead us in our morning services. Her message is titled: United Women in Faith from Proverbs 31:10-31. She will be featuring the unity of women of faith acting boldly for children, youth, and women.  The United Women in Faith community is open to all women of Matthews UMC and all women of faith that are not Methodist. Please click here and scroll down to discover the offerings for ALL women’s groups at Matthews UMC.

In our Spanish-speaking CCH community, Pastor Roldan’s message is titled: A Safe Place from Psalm 18:1-3.

Be sure to stop by The Commons for WillBeans Coffee & Fellowship with Friends from 9-11 am on Sundays. Rainbow Express Ministries, a Global Impact Partner, is serving Rainbow Roast Coffee (by donation) specially made by local roaster, Magnolia Coffee.

And now, as always, during these strange, uncertain, and hopeful days, remember … God does God’s best work in moments like this.
