Congregational Care

Please allow us to envelop you with love and prayer when you need support. Congregational care is a priority for our pastors, leaders and congregation. Care may come in the form of a visit while you are in the hospital, at home while you are caring for a loved one, or through our card ministry - to let you know we are thinking of you. You can submit your praise or prayer request, request the confidential care of a Stephen Minister, or gain help through a support group.

Matthews UMC offers additional support through the following ministries. Fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page or call the Church Office at 704-847-6261 to connect with representatives for each of the following areas.

HANDY MAN MINISTRY

Our United Methodist Men recognize that individuals in our community, like our shut-ins or senior adults, have minor home repairs that they are not able to do themselves or complete because of a financial challenge. Joe Culpepper leads a group of men who help complete these minor repairs. Please fill out the form below to learn more or if you might be interested in serving.

INCLUSIVE GRACE

In the spirit of Galatians 3:28 "...for you are all one in Christ Jesus," this Reconciling Ministry of Matthews UMC supports and celebrates LGBTQIA+ persons, their families, and friends, both within and beyond the immediate church community. In addition to a monthly group meeting, Lifelines are offered for one-on-one support.

MILITARY & VETERANS MINISTRY

This program supports our active duty military members and veterans. Even though our military members may not be with us in person, we want them to know we will continue to walk with them in their faith journey. If you are an active duty servicemember, veteran or if you have someone in your family, or if you know someone who is currently serving in the military, please submit the form below so we can capture current contact information.
