Engage in Healthy Dialogue with Intentional Practice

One thing most people would agree on is that we live in a highly polarized and reactive society. We are quick to judge someone's intelligence and worth by their political or social opinions. And based on that judgement, we assume we know everything there is to know about a person. What if, with some intentional practice, we could put aside our anger and sparing gloves to engage in healthy dialogue again?

3 Practices for Crossing the Difference Divide

Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 am-1:00 pm
Light continental breakfast available with check-in at 8:45

In their book by the same name, Jim Henderson and Jim Hancock identify the 3 practices as: 1) being unusually interested in others; 2) staying in the room with difference; and 3) not comparing my best with your worst.

As Christians, we are called to love one another, show hospitality, listen, grow in wisdom, and reflect the image of our Creator. Join in for an interactive workshop focused on teaching the 3 Practices as well as important communication techniques, mindfulness and self-care practices, and spiritual disciplines to help participants be successful in applying them.
