Scholarships

Matthews UMC offers a variety of college scholarships available to members of Matthews UMC each year! Each scholarship opportunity has a different set of criteria required for eligibility.

Please be aware, the deadline for the scholarships is nonnegotiable, therefore all applications received after the deadline by mail, in person, or by e-mail will not be considered. Please be aware that only fully completed applications will be considered. Be sure to include all required elements, otherwise your application may not be considered. It is important to pay attention to each scholarship’s individual requirements, because some of the criteria will vary.

The Matthews UMC Scholarship Packet consists of 4 parts: a cover page, criteria, 2-page application form, and an expenses/resources form.

The 2024 Scholarship Application Process is Now Open thru Friday, May 24, at NOON.

When completing the Scholarship Application please be aware of the following:

Deadline for ALL 2024 applications is Friday, May 24, 2024 by NOON

2024 Applications can be mailed to Matthews UMC, hand delivered to the church mailbox, or e-mailed to Pastor Corey (only). [If e-mailing your application, please send all components of the application at one time, do not send each required item separately.] Be sure to submit the following for ALL Scholarships:

• a photo,
• the Application form and Education Expense/Resource form,
• an application for EACH scholarship you are applying for,
• a copy of the acceptance or enrollment letter from your anticipated/current school for EACH scholarship.

Pay attention to additional materials required; depending on the scholarship(s) you are applying for.
