Susan Heafner-Heun is a Charlotte native and now resident of Weddington who graduated from East Meck and attended Greensboro College (a small United Methodist college) for undergrad (double majored in Religion and Sociology). She then spent a year at Duke Divinity before transferring to Union Theological Seminary in New York City to complete her Master of Divinity (MDiv). In 2008, Susan received her Doctor of Ministry degree from Hood Theological Seminary. She also has a certification in Spiritual Direction and has a 200-hour Certificate as a Yoga Instructor. Susan feels fortunate to have served the last 25 years in a variety of ministry settings – large church, two small churches, rural, city, suburbs, and a new church start. Each setting has been a blessing, and she is now overjoyed to add Matthews UMC to her service record. Susan is supported by my husband, John Heun and two daughters.

Fun Fact: First Female Clergy/Preacher to preach at Rock Springs Camp Meeting in Denver, NC. She stepped into a pulpit that was over 250 years old and was the first woman to do so!
Childhood Dream: To be a drive-in window lady at McDonalds.
