Leadership Connection 2026

REGISTER HERE BY SUNDAY, JANUARY 18!
Requests for Childcare must be received by Wednesday, January 14. Contact Beth at [email protected] or 704-815-1989.

All church members, elected & non-elected leaders, and volunteers across all ministry areas are invited to MUMC’s annual Leadership Connection on January 24 in The Commons. Arrive at 8:30 for check-in & a light breakfast, followed by the program from 9:00-11:30.

In response to Bishop Carter’s conference-wide initiative toward our churches becoming trauma-informed and healing-centered, our speakers will be Caroline Hart & Tanya Blackford from The Center for Trauma Resilient Communities in Winston-Salem, NC, a partner of Crossnore Communities for Children. These gifted professionals will lead an interactive workshop focused on educating our leaders about trauma, how it is expressed and triggered, and how building resiliency can promote healing. We will discuss the church’s history and relationship with trauma and its future in healing; recognize the importance of self-awareness and self-care in self-regulation; and discover real strategies for building a trauma-informed community at MUMC through our committee, ministry, mission, and spiritual education work. Join us as we take Beyond Hospitality to the next level.
